RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

ONCOLOGY/HAEMATOLOGY
Qualitiative Prescriber Studies

  • Recruitment & conduct and analysis of face-to-face interviews with oncologists (n=30) regarding diagnostic and prescribing behaviour in relation to renal cell carcinoma and GIST to clarify the optimal points of contact. Tested Phase III trial message materials to ensure optimal message targetting
  • Face-to-face qual interviews with oncologist and palliative care physicians to better understand the treatment of breakthrough cancer pain and the potential value of a new opioid delivery route amongst terminally ill patients
  • Face-to-face interviews with Australian oncologists and urologists to understand the treatment of late stage prostate cancer and to test the positioning and likely uptake levels of a new drug for hormone refractory patients.
  • Recruitment and face-to-face structured interviews with n=25 haematologists from US, UK, Europe, Australia and Canada in relation to appropriate positioning and communication messaging around novel treatments.
  • Required a fast-tracked recruitment within just a 7 day period.
  • Recruitment and F-2-F/phone structured interviews with n=27 prescribers, incl. oncologists, haematologists & surgeons in 5 states to gauge use of IV iron and response to novel IV iron product. Insights were used to make key decisions on most appropriate market messsages and target markers.
Quantitative Prescriber Studies
  • Analysis and reporting of oncologist and breast care nurse attitudes to early breast cancer management in high and low risk patients
Quantitative Patient Studies
  • Longitudinal tracking (eight months) of Support Program-enrolled patients with early breast cancer using multiple methods (telephone, mailed self completion, home visits) to evaluate the PSP, assessing persistence and compliance to a daily medication regimen.
  • Telephone survey of n=200 Support Program-enrolled patients with early breast cancer to evaluate the use and suitability of program materials
UROLOGY
  • Recruitment, conduct and analysis of executive interviews with NSW GPs regarding diagnostic and prescribing behaviour in relation to renal disease, awareness of benefits of early diagnosis, specialist referral and testing of communication and education materials.
INFECTIOUS DISEASES
  • Qualitative interviews with 16 infectious disease physicians and nurses to examine use of alcohol rub solutions, opportunities, barriers to uptake and market interest in electronic compliance monitoring software
  • Face-to-face interviews with 23 of Australia’s leading S100 prescribers (GPs, immunologists, infectious disease specialists) in Sydney and Melbourne to assess reaction to product profile, pricing, differentiators and the likely level of uptake of a new HIV drug.
CARDIOVASCULAR
  • Focus groups with GPs & Hypertension patients to fine tune the structure and content of Atlantis’ Circulate patient support programme to maximise impact on uptake of and adherence to Diovan, CoDiovan and Exforge.
OSTEOPOROSIS
  • Data analysis and comparative cohort study for Novartis tracking persistence levels to three core competitor medication regimes over an 18 month period.
  • Online quant research with n=343 prescribers (GPs, Rheumatologists, Endocrinologists, Geriatricians) to measure awareness, trial and usage of osteoporosis medications and assess perception and positioning of Aclasta vs competitor osteoporosis medications, post launch, to enable accurate brand plan development.
  • 24 month evaluation of the ROI and appropriateness of a patient support program for patients taking Fosamax Involves telephone interviews with patients, analysis and reporting of data.
DIABETES
  • Quantitative study of GP prescribing behaviour in relation to first, second and third line diabetes control medications using a 2 week self-completion diary administered to prescribers. N=30 GP diaries were returned of n=35 placed.
  • Quantitative research with Australian Diabetes patients to test the appropriateness and response to a new insulin delivery device, including measures of uptake propensity.
NEUROLOGY
  • Two phase longitudinal tracking of Multiple Sclerosis patients enrolled in a Patient Support Program to evaluate the ROI of patient support based on measurable improvements in disease understanding, persistence with medications and ease of use. Also assessed the patient group’s level of comfort with a new drug delivery device
  • Key Opinion Leader interviews with prescribers and government PBAC officials to enable the client to fine-tune the design of a Phase III trial of a novel orphan therapy for Motor Neuron Disease. The focus was on likely price comparators, facilitators to PBS listing and study design elements that will assist in gaining PBS & TGA approval.
PSYCHIATRY
  • Face to face interviews with psychiatrists, mental health workers, schizophrenic patients, carers and other stakeholders to assess the viability and ideal structure of a patient support program for anti-psychotic medications.
MACULAR DEGENERATION
  • Data analysis and reporting for the Macular Degeneration Foundation, analysing a major patient study on common Wet MD treatments, frequency of use of anti-VEGF injections, patient outcomes, barriers to access and overall treatment costs.
SURGICAL ANALGESIA
  • Recruitment of eight surgeons, pain specialists & anaesthetists to face-to-face interviews to discuss market needs as part of a global needs assessment for a pain management device manufacturer
